Grace’s Picks: Yoga & Pilates

JADE YOGA Harmony Mat

If there's one thing to splurge on for yoga, it’s your mat. I often see people struggling with their practice simply because they’re using a low-quality mat. Over the years, I’ve tested many, and the JADE Yoga Harmony Mat is by far the best. Its grip is excellent, providing the perfect balance—strong enough for dynamic flows where you don’t want to slip, yet soft and supportive for gentle yoga. It comes in two sizes, 68” and 74”, and even though I’m 5'4", I love the extra length!

Handwoven Mexican Blanket

A yoga blanket is an invaluable tool for any practice. With various folding techniques, it can serve multiple functions, from support to warmth. A must-have for any serious practitioner, this basic style is perfect for all levels!

Hugger Mugger Standard Yoga Bolster

This firm bolster is worth every penny! It’s the most comfortable and versatile bolster, perfect for Restorative Yin and beyond. Whether you're melting into deep relaxation or holding postures for extended stillness, this bolster provides the ideal balance of firmness and cushioning. A must-have for deep release and full-body support!

Manduka Foam Yoga Block

Not all yoga blocks are created equal! A good block should provide stability, support, and durability, and the Manduka yoga block excels in all three. Its dense yet lightweight design offers the perfect balance of sturdiness and comfort, making it reliable for everything from deep stretches to balance support. After trying many blocks over the years, this is by far the best one I've worked with, and I highly recommend it for any practice!

Yoga Strap

Yoga straps are used in our Stretch & Mobility classes, this versatile tool helps maintain foot flexion, allowing for deeper, more effective stretches. Ideal for those with tight hips and leg muscles, it provides support and enhances flexibility while promoting proper alignment

Aero Circle Pilates Ring

The Aero Circle Pilates Ring is one of my favorite tools to use in CoreFit classes. I typically incorporate it in seated or lying-down positions, where it adds just the right amount of resistance to awaken and strengthen the core, inner thighs, glutes, and arms. What I love about this ring is how it encourages specific muscles to stay engaged while you focus on strengthening other areas—making each movement more intentional and effective. It’s simple, portable, and a fantastic way to build deep, functional strength without needing heavy equipment.

Self Study

Anatomy of Yoga: An Instructor's Inside Guide to Improving Your Poses by Dr. Abigail Ellsworth

This beautifully illustrated book is an invaluable guide for both beginners and experienced practitioners who want to understand yoga through the lens of anatomy. It clearly shows the muscles engaged, strengthened, and stretched in foundational poses, helping you practice safely and mindfully. As an instructor, I found it instrumental in designing classes where alignment and safety were essential — a true bridge between anatomy and asana.

Nurture Your Self

Sky Orgaincs

This luxurious moisturizing oil melts effortlessly into your hands and body, providing deep hydration for your skin and face. It has quickly become one of my top discoveries for achieving soft, nourished skin. A little goes a long way, and for an extra boost of moisture, you can mix it with a clean body cream like Native's body lotion to create a beautifully emulsified, rich texture.

Dead Sea Salt

Dead Sea Salt – Harvested from the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, this therapeutic salt is packed with magnesium, calcium, potassium, and bromide to support muscle recovery and relaxation. Magnesium eases tension and soreness, calcium and potassium hydrate and renew, while bromide soothes the nervous system. Perfect for a warm bath or foot soak, Dead Sea Salt naturally restores musculoskeletal health and promotes deep self-care

Native Body Lotion-Coconut & Vanilla

Our skin craves hydration—especially if you love hot showers and long baths in the winter like I do! That’s why I turn to Native’s Coconut & Vanilla line—one of my all-time favorites. It’s rich, moisturizing, and smells amazing. I use it alone or mix in a little Sky Organics Coconut Oil + Vitamin E for an extra boost of nourishment. Best of all, it’s chemical-free and made with clean ingredients, so your skin gets the care it deserves!

Drip Drop

Over the years, after working with hundreds of people, I’ve seen how often dehydration is at the root of issues like fatigue, headaches, and even vertigo. That’s why I keep Drip Drop in my self-care toolkit. I like to use it once or twice a week to help ensure my body is deeply hydrated and actually absorbing what it needs. It’s a simple yet powerful way to support overall wellness—especially if you're active or tend to forget to drink enough water (we’ve all been there).

Epsom Salt by Sky Organics

If you’ve been practicing with me for a while, you’ve likely heard me recommend an Epsom salt bath more than once. It’s one of my top recovery tools for easing fatigue, relaxing sore muscles, and restoring a sense of well-being. Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is especially effective because it absorbs through the skin, delivering relief directly to tired muscles. This clean, fragrance-free version from Sky Organics is one of my favorites—free of unnecessary additives and full of benefits. It’s a simple, grounding practice that soothes the body and soul. Pro Tip: Add a cup of baking soda to your bath to soften the water and prevent your skin from drying out.

Feel-Good Tools

6monk Blue Thumbby Massage Tool

Myofascial release has been one of the most effective ways I relieve isolated pockets of pain in my body—and the Thumby tool is a game-changer! It's the perfect size and shape to target those stubborn areas that need release, and it even sticks to the wall, making it easy to reach spots along the sides of your arms and hips. After an intense dance class, my left hip often acts up—but just 15 to 20 minutes with the Thumby and I’m as good as new!

For the Home & Studio

Japanese Incense by Nippon KODO

Japanese incense is by far the best incense I have ever used. The level of quality and integrity in every stick is unmatched, and Nippon Kodo does a wonderful job honoring this tradition. My favorite scent is lavender — always my first choice. I love to light it in my home when I need a little lift, during meditation to uplift my spirit, or simply to bring a sense of peace and beauty into the space. It’s also my go-to in the studio when I’m teaching.

Lotus Incense Holder

A versatile incense holder designed for flexibility. It holds up to three Nippon Kodo sticks at once for a stronger aroma, or a single stick (even halved) for a softer presence. My favorite choice for both home and studio.
